Our writers placed him on number 10 in the list of international players to be excited for in this seasons IPL. However, the cheque writers at the IPL auction hold a completely different opinion. The Proteas T20 veteran was bought by RCB for a whopping 10 crore INR ($1.4 million). His recent average run in the Mzansi Super League and this huge price tag did not go down well with the general public. Many criticized the Royal Challengers Bangalore for overspending.

2. Glen Maxwell - 10.5 crore INR ($1.5 M – Approx.)

Kings XI Punjab have shown they mean business by having 2 of the 5 most expensive players in their team. However, Glen Maxwell is a player anyone would pay big for in the world of T20. The Australian T20-specialist was wanted by both Delhi Capitals and Kings XI Punjab. He did have a poor 2018 season, but after returning to Kings XI Punjab he would be hoping to replicate that memorable 2014 season with the Punjabis where he was the player of the tournament and helped them reach the final.

1. Pat Cummins - 15.50 crore INR ($2.2 M Approx.)

Franchise: Kolkata Knight Riders

Pat Cummins became the most expensive foreign buy ever after the KKR purchased his services for a staggering 15.50 crore INR! However, this is no surprise as he is the world’s number bowler in Tests, a great white ball player too, and just 26 so he is at the prime of his career. The Aussie quick has high expectations to live up to because of this price tag, but we are sure he will justify it and more by the end of the season!
